KIOXIA Showcases AI-Ready SSD Solutions at NVIDIA GTC 2025

Düsseldorf, Germany – 19 March 2025

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape how we work, live, and compute, KIOXIA has once again taken centre stage at NVIDIA GTC 2025, one of the world's premier AI and accelerated computing conferences. The company is demonstrating how high-performance flash storage is essential to scaling modern AI workloads.

At the heart of the KIOXIA showcase is its commitment to storage innovation for the AI era — from training large language models to optimising inference and real-time data access. Flash memory isn’t just a component — it’s infrastructure for AI.

AI Meets High-Capacity Storage

Visitors to the KIOXIA booth (#1811) at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center experienced hands-on demos of KIOXIA’s cutting-edge storage solutions, including:

  • KIOXIA LC9 Series: Enterprise NVMe SSDs with up to 122.88TB capacity, powered by 2Tb QLC BiCS FLASH™ Gen8 — ideal for generative AI, training, and retrieval workloads.
  • AiSAQ™ Technology: KIOXIA’s All-in-Storage ANNS with Product Quantization, reducing DRAM dependency and optimising vector database performance. Demonstrated using the CD8P Series PCIe Gen5 SSDs.
  • High-Capacity QLC Demonstrations: Showcasing real-time large dataset retrieval capabilities that power today’s advanced AI inference systems.

Why Storage is Now Central to AI

AI applications are hungry — not just for compute, but for scalable storage infrastructure. Flash memory provides the bandwidth, durability, and efficiency that conventional storage can’t match. Whether you're fine-tuning language models or deploying real-time RAG pipelines, fast SSDs like the LC9 Series or CD8P Series reduce latency and improve throughput.

Expert Insight at GTC

KIOXIA’s Rory Bolt, senior fellow and principal architect, shared technical insights during his Expo Hall Theater Session, titled:
“Improve Vector DB Performance While Reducing DRAM Use in AI Systems.”
Held on Friday, 21 March at 12:20pm PT, the session highlighted AiSAQ’s capability to reduce reliance on DRAM by storing and processing vector database elements directly on SSDs — unlocking significant cost and energy efficiencies.
